Cisco: vManage Multi-WAN

Through cross-team collaboration, my team and I created a brand new flow for our users to connect wide area networks to our CX Cloud platform.

Summary

Collaboration and Contraints

  • Worked with Cisco stakeholders.

  • Initially designed for multiple account selection but pivoted to single selection due to constraints.

Understanding User Goals

  • Collaborated with project and product managers.

  • Set up sync-up calls to clarify requirements and end goals.

Wireframes and Design Iteration

  • Created low-fidelity wireframes.

  • Onboarded visual and content designers for feedback.

  • Enhanced designs collaboratively.

High-Fidelity Designs and Development

  • Produced high-fidelity designs.

  • Engaged with the development team to address questions and feedback.

  • Adapted designs based on technical constraints and user experience improvements.

Worked with our internal Cisco stakeholders on this new user flow. I and other team members had already created an established user experience for this but had to pivot towards the end to single selection due to various constraints at the time. We kept the work we had collectively done and “froze” it for a time when we had the bandwidth to continue work on allowing a user to add multiple accounts at the same time.

During this process, I collaborated with project and product managers to understand what the asks were in these user flows and to understand what the end goal of our users was. I set up multiple sync-up calls to gain these understandings and to set up a cadence of team communication as I completed particular user flows in low-fidelity wireframes.

Once my wireframes were completed I onboarded my visual designer and content designer to give me insight and feedback based on their experience. We worked together to further enhance these designs and came out with high-fidelity designs ready for our development team to work on.

From here I was on calls with our development team to sync up on any questions. We updated designs based on feedback we received from the development teams and project managers. This feedback could have come from a place of technical constraints or ideas on how to further improve the user experience we had built out.
